Unfortunately, Rogue (Josh) is no longer in business, but his Rogue MAF and A-Tune are some of the best engine management products for a 951. Rogue products used in conjunction with an electronic boost controller converts the '80's technology in the 951 to current day standards. I raced by 951 for 10 years with a Rogue MAF and AEM boost controller on E85 with 20lbs of boost and never had the typical 951 problems (i.e blown head gasket).

Hi Bill, want to thank you for giving me Lucky Dave's contact. He called me and we spoke for 90 min. He shared a wealth of info on 951's and quite a guy. The A-Tune would/will be perfect for my set-up, unfortunately timing is not the best for me right now. Just had major servicing performed last week. I'll definitely be watching your thread.

Thanks again,

Ron D.

Yes I did see that but I'm unsure how do you actually tune the chip. Or this is only through Josh? Aka, the A-Tune kit does not bring a socket-adapter for a serial-usb cable that you can download a program in your laptop and tune it yourself (log as well) of course if you are used to that,

There is no tuning for the A-Tune, since it uses the AFM. The EPROM that comes with the kit is just plug and play. If you want to do your own tuning you need the Rogue MAF with logger and tuner, which are very rare and expensive. I use to have the complete Rogue MAF tuner setup, but sold it long ago.

Good to know. I guess it works for stock boost pressure or maybe a tad more then...If i have bigger injectors and turbo running more boost, then there's not much I can do to modify the values and "tune" it. I guessed it wrong I would like to keep the stock AFM in place.

The A-Tune with 3.0 BAR FPR will support a larger turbo and higher boost, but not larger injectors since it's software is based on the Rogue's use of the MAP sensor. Keep in mind that Rogue and Vitesse software are the only software for the 951 based on true conversion of manifold air pressure (MAP) into close loop engine management algorithms like modern turbo engines. All other engine tunes like 951MAX or the Lindsey LR/MAX, which do not use a MAP sensor are just manipulating the fuel tables (i.e. open loop). Any 951 tune that is open loop will result in knocking and head gasket failures, especially if you are using a manual boost controller.

That's a little misleading. As long as you run the boost where the fuel and ignition mapping have been done you are ok.

BTW I run and love the A-Tune.

If someone is looking for a Lindsey Racing A-Tune kit: I have one available which has been installed, but never used. I went for a AugTronic ECU with wasted spark ignition and an EBC (controlled by the ECU).
