Default How to fix rear view mirror

My rear view mirror fell off as I was driving, It is not broken, it seems the glue must have given up with age. Should glue it back with crazy glue or get some kind of special glue to do the same?

Thanks

I have never used it, but you can get special "rear view mirror" glue at AutoZone, Napa, etc. I would give that a shot.

Yes there is a glue aimed at rear view mirors. Maybe try that stuff.

Make sure you really clean the spot where you affix the mirror mount. I tried every adhesive and nothing worked for long until I cleaned the spot with Brake Parts Cleaner (be very careful, of course). Nail polish remove and simple mineral spirits won't clean well enough. I eventually ended up using industrial strength epoxy (that stuff previously failed too) and it's still attached even under scorching summer heat.

I have used this stuff numerous times on my Jeep ( from the auto part store )
If two drivers drive the car? The constant adjusting of the mirror plus the ****ty American make
ball joint on the mirror was never smooth...
The best advise I can give you is don't over do the amount of glue you use
You must disconnect the button from the mirror and just glue the button. Also
mark the windshield on the outside with tape as to where the mirror was
and use and razor to scrape the glass then isopropyl alcohol to clean it
Good luck
regards
Ed

The isopropyl alcohol as a cleaner didn't work for me either...

like everyone else said, clean it very well and then hold in place for the amount of time specified on the package times 2. I held for the amount of time they said but that wasn't long enough. Lost my mirror a few times. And make sure to hold it completely still while the glue is curing.
