Nothing I can prove/disprove. There were several cars the like of which you'd normally not see. Anything is possible out there. People were bringing out some crazy stuff.

I fogged my clutch so bad it wasn't funny. My friend said he did the same thing with his T/A after he dropped a 422 in it.

I ran the numbers as best I could, and came up with 375rwhp at 7400 RPM to hit 190Mph on 255/40/17 tires and stock gearing. Feel free to double check my work, I'm not 100% sure it's right.

Justin, that sounds MUCH more realistic than a chipped S putting out 280RWHP, maybe, doing it.

I sent an email to a friend who actually attended the event. I'll try to ask him a few questions.
There were about 20 Rennsport members there. Of course you can believe what you like.

No way anyone is getting 190mph with 300rwhp. That's hilarious.

I said, and the result was, ~180mph. BIG difference.

According to my crappy top speed calculator, given that stock 86 turbo (217hp) can hit 157mph(C&D "Fastest Cars" article, circa 1986) the turbo needs ~280rwhp to hit 180mph.

On my friends radar gun 184 mph @7200 rpm, holding 24 lbs boost. It was not for the feint of heart. I will never do that on the street again.

Thanks John,
They are not cheap, the good news is they are light and strong, I think 16 and 18 lbs and made by BBS. I am running 225 and 295 PZero Corsa.

Probably 19s but not well. It would beat the hell out of your suspension.

I'm a little lost on the stuff about tires, maybe somebody could help me out. let's take a 255/40/17 (I think somebody has this on their 951) The first number is the width of the tire in mm. Right? then the next number is the percent of the width that the tire is tall from the rim. So 40% of 255 is 102mm which is about 4 inches. Then the next number is the diameter of the rim in inches, so 17. Now if all of this is correct then the diameter of the rim plus the tire would be 25 inches. (17+4+4) 25 inches seems huge. So could somebody straighten me out?

You have it. there are subtle differences in the measurements of different manufacturers but that is iesentiall it.

The only difference is, the ratio is sidewall from the bead, not the rim. You would have to measure that wit the tire off the rim.

My Kumho 255/40ZR17s measure 25.1" in overall diameter which matches their 225/25 fronts.
