Also, several factors lead me to believe your car has been painted at least once. Your car has side and rear skirts which were not there from the factory. The way they were attached/blended points to the car having been painted, in addition to the fact that your 944 emblem on the back has been removed and replaced at some point.

To find out definitively, look at the paint code on your car? You can find it in the trunk area, behind the carpet.
Yep - according to Clark's Garage the pearl paint was only offered in 1986 for the 944s. I've only seen turbos with burgundy interiors that have that exterior color - never an NA.

I'll check it out, I have suspected as much but everything is white in the bay pearl might have been a restored color. I know the shirts bumped and back aren't stock. The emblem i checked to something I preferred. She has a long way to go. Hope there is a socal meetup soon to get some tips. The only youtube videos for help in repairs are in German. Either than that rennlist has been my go to. Anyone against changing her to black? Seems cliche but I have always had a thing for black 944's with yellow konis.

Came across another pearl white rolling on beautiful partially polished fuchs at an independent Porsche Mechanic in Laguna Niguel, CA. First one I've seen in the flesh other than mine.

Owned by a lister?

Don't know the owner of the car. I've had work done by James in the past. Good shop, good guy.

My cab needs a repaint. It is Alpine white but I have thought about changing it to pearl white.
When I get everything finished it should be the only pearl white S2 turbo cab in the country if not the world.

What does the RL brain trust think? Good idea or bad idea?

I repainted my 951 Pearl white. I did not care for the original Alpine white. In my opinion, good idea.

Pearl white looks great, but is hard to paint initially and then is impossible to match if you ever had to have any portion redone.

Yeah, James is great and he runs a nice little shop. I forget the other guys name that works there but he drives a red 944 turbo and seems to know them very well. Definitely a rare thing nowadays...

I would keep it original, some day these things may really start to appreciate, and having the factory color never hurts value. It could hurt collectability, but at least yours isn't guards red

Very little on my car will be original when it is done.

Seats, steering wheel, stereo system, dash and console plastic, console cover, rear seat belts, A pillar gauges, none are original.

Wheels, brake lines(most likely brakes as well), shocks, springs, sway bars, strut brace, camber plates, none are original.

Mega squirt engine management, complete custom harness, COP sequential ignition, full sequential injection, no AFM or MAF, complete engine rebuild for turbo application, Garrett GT3582 Tial HTA wheel with SS turbine housing, V-band exhaust, custom intake, none of it original.

Euro front bumper cover(no side marker lights), solid header panel with HID BiXenon projector headlights, TonyG splitter, 944 cab rear spoiler, fiberglass euro rear bumper, hood vents, none of it is original.

IF I ever decided to sell it, whomever buys it won't be looking for anything original.
