There was a thread on the 944 board about a conversion kit that Skip from Paragon was putting together. Try a search there. It contained some discussion over the early versus late parts. Early parts were 477 series numbers, and the later cars need a porsche part # (944...) for the crank mech.

I ordered the parts through a dealer but have not installed them yet, so I cannot verify the installation or confirm the list of needed parts. I did my checking using the Euro/RoW part search. Once I found the part numbers, the dealer could order them.

Why would you want to do that? Aren't power windows more convienient? I was just wondering.

I have done this on two cars, its pretty easy to do. Track down an early 924 at a junk yard for the manual window regulators (and don't forget to get the window crank handles!). Pull the inside door panel , then remove the window from the track and then the old power regulators and motors. Drill out the weld for rear mounting bracket off the manual regulator, and make sure you can get a 6mm bolt through the hole, and then install it in place of the power one.

If you need a pic or two of it, either do a search (I have posted a pic before) or send me a pm and I will repost it.

Regards,

Scott,

Did you do the conversion on your 87T? My understanding is that the early parts only work on the pre 85.5 and you need the later parts for the post 85.5. Otherwise you have to replace the window glass and possibly the rails also. Any ideas?
