Default Tial 38mm design

Just had to reinstall the Tial again this time using loctite blue

I have modify the bracket on the torque tube to be able to hold the brakect of the pipe on the exit side of the WG so I don't think there would be much vibration.

Here's hoping that this time it would not come loose again. It would be better if some how the bolts from the tial to the adaptor plates can be locked by lock nuts.

Is it possible to post a pic or description of how you modified the bracket
to work?
I was concerned about the tial just hanging there but didn't see a way to make the bracket work.
I was thinking someone should fabricate a new bracket that works with the Tial.

ok basically I flip the factory bracket that have 2 semi-circle around and push it away from the engine closer to where the WG exhaust outlet pipe is, I drill a hole in the middle of the existing holes on this bracket then put a bolt through the WG outlet exhaust existing mounting hole put a lock nut in the middle then push the rest of the bolt thru the drilled hole and bolt it up with a lock nut.

So basically the WG is now sitting on the outlet pipe which is bolted to this factory bracket whic is bolted to the torque tube.

Hope this help.

Mine came loose also so I put the spring type lock washers on it and have not had any other problems so far.

As an alternative, I drilled th heads of all the capscrews and then lock-wired them rather than use loctite in a high temp environment

Thanks for the pics. Thats a good idea.
Now I just have to find a bracket.
In an attempt to make the bracket work using the stock threaded insert
I cut off the section of the bracket you used.

The best solution
But that support bracket mod is a great idea.

Heavy Duty
Probably weighs more than the wastegate

10 mm stainless steel, yes it's a little heavy. Since it was difficult to get a triangulated geometry on it I choose to go heavy duty.
And if it means that I can get a trouble free wg installation, I can gladly take a couple of hundred grams more.

Tomas,

That looks good. But I am talking more about the issues with the Tial and adaptor plates to fit standard exhaust.

p.s. by customising the dump tubes you have removed all the issues that I have with the Tial coming loose with the adaptor plates.

I didn't think you needed a bracket to run the WG. Why are you guys using them? Just to be safe? Mine feels very sturdy. Also, what bolts are you speaking of when you say you lock tightened them?

What he said...Are the brackets really necessary?
