New Type of Spark Plug- FireStorm
This is a link to a new type of spark plug. There seems to be real possibilities for this. He is getting combustion with a 40:1 AFR. A plasma field is created not just a spark. He is getting 100% combustion. It is some interesting reading at the very least.

That's what I was thinking. Snake oil indeed......

The story is more than 50% bull****...but I don't know if we should totally bash the idea... It has been proven that there is a lot of room to improve in the ignition system of fuels (MSD also addresses the same exact issue, but differently than that guy). But the fuel efficiency can only get marginally better. The power comes from fuel. Less fuel than stoichiometry calls for in the balanced combustion equation, then you have less power output... period. The only fuel you "could" cut out is the fuel added to cool the combustion chamber to prevent detonation. You could only remove that excess fuel if you could keep the temps low enough.
Pounds of bull****... but a couple ounces of good ideas in that reading.

Well,
It may or may not be snake oil? Time will tell. People used to think the world was flat and the sun rotated around the earth. The man is thinking outside of the box. If it does work as stated I hope it makes it to the market because if it does there are going to be alot of PO'd companies out there! LOL

If it does decrease the temperature of the exhaust gases it is unefficient for turbocharged cars (which is everyone here, well almost). The turbo likes to have hot air, it is much less dense (expands when gets hot), therefore less of it is needed to spool up the turbo, with these spark plugs (if they work) the lag will be much greater then it is on normal plugs, as turbo won't have enough of air to spin it as fast.
Excuse my spelling.

I have never understood the hype of spark plugs. Its the plugs job to 'ignite' the mixture.
Once it ignites, then thats it...the flame front keeps up the burning process.
What difference does it make if its a 'plasma' or a spark that ignites it.
The only real issue is a consistant spark that doesnt blow out under high compression.

Well, who's going to try a set in his 951, do dyno tests, measure fuel economy, emmissions, seat of the pants driving impressions, and then report back to us?
Perhaps Mr. Plasma will donate a set for testing purposes.
