I've been trying to find the original sizes of the Goodyear bias ply slicks used on the GTR. The wheels were 16x12. Does anyone know the tire sizes used? Anyone with photos of the wheels/tires that may show the size(s)?
TIA

Default GTR Tires

OUTSTANDING! Thank you Steve!
It seems like many of the GTRs have gone to 17 or 18” wheels and modern tires. These 16’s are still available and I want to start with them.

Where is that car 003? It’s gorgeous!

Right now it’s in Florida I will be racing it at the HSR Event in Daytona this fall. It hasn’t seen a track since 1988. Those are the original tires on it from 1988.

Great news! We will see you in Daytona with the #007 GTR. This will be fun! Hoping to have it out shortly for testing. Like yours, it's been mostly dormant for many years. Currently freshening all the systems. There's a thread on the 007 resurrection on ********. We should try to pit adjacent to one another.

This site's algorithm clearly doesn't like to see another site mentioned Michael!

Bolts right up to a 2.5 block...

I also have a scan of this head and was thinking of printing some sand to do castings......

The GTR cylinder head is surely a fascinating piece of nostalgia, and it would certainly be interesting to run one on a 951 engine. It would be a huge amount of work to adapt it, however. None of the factory pieces will fit and there would be a significant amount of work and fabrication to adapt it. All intake, exhaust, water connects are bespoke, not to mention the huge ports are only suitable for high RPM. Perhaps more importantly, from a performance perspective, a 4V head makes much more sense. It (4V) adapts much easier and will easily outflow the 2V configuration. It would have more of everything except the coolness factor.

Yes, that sounds about right Michael. Stock 4v will outflow any 8v no matter how modified. I was advised that the 2.5ltr 8v we ran back in 2015 flowed 279cfm @ 28" / .600. That motor would rev out to over 8000rpm.It had HUGE inlet ports, a big cam and solid lifters. In the end I think it would have been suited to a different gearbox. Perhaps a 6 speed with short ratios. Or something like what the GTR you're working on has...even though reportedly they've had some issues with it?

Here's a short video I found re the GTR.
Not sure why it's not loading?
