Smooth as a babys butt!! Well after we sorted through a DME issue.

NO drips, no runs, no errors. We had to use my spare DME/KLR with stock chips and hook up the AFM to get it to fire, made one FP adjustment and smooth, throttle response was nice and crisp. There were one/two lifters made noise but it finally pumped up, as there were two that were in question on #4 and yes that was the noisy end. We will go forward one step at a time to figure out the electrical end.

I let the owner wire in the MAF and Mafterburner, I was out of town, so we'll sort through that later if that's an issue but I don't think so, but for now it's fired and smooth. We got the coolant system bled, got heat, 5 bar at start up on oil pressure, down to 3.5 with 30wt when completely warmed up after 20 minutes and the temp barely got above the first mark. There was minimal smoke from our greasy gloved hands but that subsided as well.

At this point, not sure if it's wiring issue with the upgrades or the original DME/KLR that has/is the problem; but if it is the DME, this would coincide with the car running poorly when we put it on jackstands.

Bret: The lifter(s) made noise, but did you store them in oil?

I am asking since i have the lifters soaked in oil for about 4 weeks now, last time i did this (cam tower gasket) i soaked the lifters in oil for a few hours and ran fine, no ticking. Wondering after a long time in soaking, if any noises will come.

Congrates!

yes, they spent one day without, but then were in oil the whole time. Now what happened was that they got installed and we got our schedules mixed up and both of us had to go to work and the car sat about a week and half before the start.

up early to go to the gym so I can have some ME time but after church, assisting with laundry, playing PS2 with little one, I'm on the couch for Masters, Nascar, and Champ car

no work on the car today, don't want to and if you do, that's when you make mistakes.

Is he still paying his wife that enormous alimony plus maintenance for her Polo ponies...or something ridiculous like that?

Scott, no problem on cracking on mine or Jim's, nor do I expect any on Rhobs. I think, don't know for sure, that the tiny amount of real silver in the coating, helps it to expand and contract. My bellows(expansion jt) looks like it did 5 years ago and Jim has 3 years on his. He also did the exhaust on the 930 that he restored for his wife, well that's the way he GOT a 930

Car has not been dyno'd yet, one little problem left to sort out, car has about 4500 miles on it...it just went to Memphis Auto Inspection Center to get sniffed. LR II MAF, GURU chips(awaiting 951MAX set), stock gutted cat exhaust (awaiting SFR exhaust), Mafterburner tuned to have car dithering between 14.5 and 14.9 at idle. Passed with flying colors at 1000 rpm! Results - Hydrocarbons, standard for passing less than 220 ppm - Rhobs car 35.25 ppm & the CO, standard for passing is 1.20%, Rhobs car .60%.

Does it have a cat on it, Bret? (sorry if posted earlier - I didn't re-read the thread). Thanks, and great tuning!
