Does anyone have a stock waste gate lying around and could check the part # cast on it ? The catalogues all say the part # for all 951's should be 951 123 015 04. Checking my waste gate, the part # reads 951 123 125 1R. What gives?

I can check later tonight to see what casting numbers are on the housings (I have two sitting on my work bench in the basement). But it is very normal for the OEM casting numbers to not match the Porsche part numbers.

The waste gate housing/body would be outsourced by Porsche, and whoever that fabricator was had some internal part number used when making the part. That is likely the number that you see on the body, and very unlikely to have a direct/obvious reference to the Porsche part numbers.

Also, the Porsche number is for the entire WG assembly. So its possible that the casting number is the part number for the stripped body only.

The numbers on the WG are 951 123 125 1R.

Sometimes the PET reference numbers have different interpretations by the dealer parts counter, depending on the Model Year or any superseding of parts. I've seen it happen with several items I buy from the dealer parts counter. HTH.
