It is vertically mounted, like Supra and Skyline engines, drysumped with a custom pan too IIRC.

i meant "sideways" in respect to how 944 engines are mounted from the factory.

so if this is mounted straight up, the oil pan has to be...weird......

well. if it's a drysump i can see how it would work.
