Default 944 goes BOOM, lots of smoke out tail.

So as I posted before, I popped the radiator in Indiana. I suspected it was due to plastic end tanks and ****ty Indiana roads (seriously worst roads ever). When I got it home though, I noticed I was blowing some vapor out the tail pipe, and hitting on 3 when I wasnt under load, and hitting on 4 when I gave it some gas. Hmmm sounds like a headgasket to me....

I suspect it was due to the lean pops from the issue with the crank trigger reading interferance off the alternator, causing the engine management to freak out. We'll see if I've corrected that when it's back together. Oh yeah, and as a note.... remember to jack your camber plates out before driving a few thousand miles... was still running my track alignment for Rochester - Buffalo - Chicago - Indianapolis... whoops!

Thankfully I have more 255/35R18 S03's ready to go on the front

Depends on the day. Daily, 17psi. I've turned it up for a run or two before with 100 octane in the system on the dyno. I'm pretty sure this was caused by the hiccup though.

that sucks mike but you have done many repairs and upgrades on your 951 so the down time should be minimal. Also my car is close to completion probably this weekend

What gasket are you going with? I had my reserves about the MLS, but 3000 miles and no problems (knock on wood).

Sure did... It was not hard... I was just worried about all the guys that did that and still had leaks. But no issues here, but I'm sure I will post if I do! LOL

You're welcome. God I hate doing headgaskets on these cars. I can drop an engine quicker!
