I have the Broadfoot 968 flares on my 951 track car. I believe GT sells these as well. No decent pics just now. I am heading to the track next weekend for three days if you need some shots.

The GT racing rear quarters are a lot of work to install nicely.

Here are the Broadfoot units. Not as clean at the GT Racing units but looks like they would be a lot easier to install.

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but I've been looking at possibly getting the GT widebody rear quarters sometime in the future. How do you go about installing those? Do you cut out the aluminum body area and then bolt/bondo on the fiberglass? I've done very little bodywork so I'm a bit ignorant.

The “Broadfoot” version looks like the 968 widebody kit

Adding the 944 widebody kit takes a lot of fabrication of the wheel wells and ‘unwarping’ the fiberglass. Not recommended for a street car….

I dont understand why everyone says that a fiberglass body kit is not for a street car. There are a lot of import tuners with nice fiberglass bodies - granted not all are well done. And in the 80's the pnotiac fiero was all fiberglass - from the factory - and held up well (barring an accident)

It has nothing to do with the fact that it is fiberglass, and everything to do with the quality of parts available for the 951. I've never fooled with a body kit for an input tuner car - Honda, etc., but I am guessing do to the popularity, and large volume, the kits have evolved into pretty nice quality, well thought out kits. All of the fiberglass pieces I have fooled with for the 951 are pretty rough- wavy, don't fit right, etc., and involve a ton of body work to get them to the generally acceptable quality for a "street" car. The body panel fit and finish standards for a racecar on the other hand are quite a bit lower. Isn't the 50/100 rule? - when watching a racecar go by at 100 mph from 50 yards away it needs to look ok. I also had a racer buddy of mine tell me not to worry about what the paint looked like when I was negotiated on buying a racecar roller because paint jobs on a racecar are "dynamic entities".

Hello there,
We make a set of flares that can be riveted on that allow for removal of the metal rear flares and an increase of almost 3" per side of room for track rubber. Send your email contact info and I can forward pictures of our track car. Available in carbon fibre or fibreglass.
Regards,
James

Go through a big dip and scrape a fiberglass bumper or rocker panel and see if it holds up like a urethane one does. Fiberglass is just easier to break on the steet than the track. Obviously if you have an off-track excursion the circumstances change and anything can and will break.

Oh man. Why'd you do that.... ?

Now I have to buy these too!?.
Love em.

Also, is that GT's rear bumper and Fibergalss hatch?
What hood are you running?

Funny, I almost did the same side view install. We obviously have the same taste.

Thanks for the pics.

Bruce.

Bruce, that's not Skip's car. Personally, I dont mind the Broadfoot flares, but I HATE how they cut the AIR splitter and just covered up the side markers. Would've only taken another couple hours to do it right.
