Some questions about sideskirts
The previous owner took the plastic sideskirts off. He said it was easier to jack the car up without them, and he tracked it alot. How true is this?, because i've been thinking of replacing them. Anyone have them on/off and can tell me about whether or not it makes the car more complicated to jack up?

I put them on my n/a car.. and to be honest they make jacking up my already lowered car even more of a pain in the ***.
I used to be able to get away with driving up on two 2x4's for the front and still be able to reach the rear jack (or the center jack) points..with the side skirts i need to drive up on bricks for the rear.
Honestly if you dont have them.. i would just leave it that way. Besides, they are one of those details that not many people notice.

I think it depends on your jackpoints too. I use the little circular jackpoints along the side there where the sideskirts are, and they get in the way a little bit, but not too much. If my car were any lower I think I would also have trouble getting the jack under.

I have side skirts on my 86 944t and it made no harder jacking the car up using the jack points on the underside. What you need is a low profile jack, looks like a racers jack. You can purchase one from Sears. Go's right under the side skirts with enough clearance to reach to the jack points.

I think the car looks much better with the side-skirts.
Here is one of many floor-jacks that will work just fine and even better if you make and piece that fits between the saddle and the jacking points while making sure it clears the side-skirt.

I use a cheaper (more disposable) version of those jacks: another one of many jacks. Very very handy....

Good choices. Is there an advantage to the more expensive one if I don't need to get my car up in 6 pumps? I've been looking for a new jack ever since my sears POS lost all of its hydraulic pressure.
Its sort of ironic that I'm going to upgrade from Crafstman to Harbor Freight.
