my mechanic quoted me for 500 for a new one installed, and ***** if i'm going to pay that.

i mean, he's a good guy and the prices arent awful, but i've gotta eat (well, i really should eat less, but that's beside the point)

mine isnt leaking, it's just not providing pressure. he equated it to "having low blood pressure, and trying to run a marathon"

which i guess was why the pump wasnt operating when it needed to put more effort out (higher speed turns?)

now it's starting to give me guff at any speed, and even when parking.



so if anyone has a PS pump for a decent price, let me know.

Jim, you won't believe what happen to me I was filling at the gas station the other day and instead of selecting the 91 octane I ended up filling with 87 octane and I was running 22 psi, wow the car felt so great man I won't use 91 octane no more only 87.

You can get an overhaul kit for your 951 for $20. There is even a video on the site on how to install, I got one a few weeks ago and fitted it, it's very easy..

Does this kit completely rebuild the pump or just reseal it? Or are those two the same thing?

Juan I have a good one for $35 if you can drop by today. There was a death in my near family and I'm leaving for Ft. Lauderdale tonight for a week. Can I have your old one for rebuild?

It is one in the same. The pump shaft rides on fluid and the seals. No mechanical parts to replace. A reseal is a rebuild.

my mechanic doesnt like to use used parts. the quote would be for a new one.....


he says it isnt a seal problem cuz it's not leaking, but something else that doesnt allow it to build pressure, the name of which i dont remember.



either way, i have a few offers locally. if any of them fall through, i'll ask around again.
