Default Custom/DIY spark plug wire kits or sources? For wasted spark coilpacks.

Im going with wasted spark for my car. The stock wires sort of fit on the coil packs but dont make a good seal. They should be good enough to get started, since the kinda snap on.

Does anyone know where I can buy some custom wires, or a kit to make ones that have Beru plug ends and ends to match the coil packs? Should I worry about having the exact proper plug ends (resistance)?

It might be cheaper and easier to go with different coilpacks. What does Vitesse use on their WS units?

Good to see you're making progress on MS, though

But I already made my adapter plate

Came up in Google that Magnecor will do custom sets...

Yes Magnecor makes custom sets. Here's some text about plug wires from Electromotives TEC III manual:
"Use 8mm or larger RFI and EMI suppression wire with GM
boots. We recommend using a carbon core-style suppression wire with a resistance of 3,000 to
5,000 ohms per foot. SOLID CORE WIRES SHOULD NEVER BE USED."

This should apply to all their DFU's.

I've been to Magnecor and watched the owner make me a set. Good product, two thumbs up. They'll do a good job for you.

I use Magnacores - they are happy to make up what ever you need - they even understand what the tec3 coil pack looks like!

I'd be more worried about getting the hood closed

Seriously, I'm considering a MegaSquirt as well. I have a local friend of the family who is something of a MS guru that's interested in helping, he put a MS on his '74 MGB GT and has written several articles for British Car/Classic Motorsport on the subject. Gotta be easier to do a car that was FI to begin with, right?

Do you happen to know the part number for the Beru ends? And do you think its worth going with the 10mm?

Don't need a part number - call Magnacore and just ask for a set of 944 wires that will fit the tec3 coil pack. They know this set up well!!
With the tec3 ignition contol there is enough power that i have never worried about plug wires much. I think that it would work with pipe leaners strung together

Oh - one more thing - even though the stock type ends aren’t a tight fit they will work fine. The wires you have look pretty new, you don’t have to replace them.

Get a set of magnicores with only one end terminated then have them sopply the other ends with a little extra length so you can terminat them yourself. That way you get the right fit. Terminating the ends is not a big deal.

For any of you guys that know. I just installed a Vitesse wastedspark coil pack on my track car (89 turbo) and used a new set of Linsey Racing plug wires. I assume there will not be an issue with the correct resistance with this setup? Thanks Craig

Hey Brian! I called Magnecor and had them whip a custom set of R-100 10mm race wires with GM DIS 90deg ends and the their Porsche 944 spark plug ends. I just had to give them my custom wire lengths. They were $125.99. Their KV-85 (8.5mm) will be less expensive and it is the same wire just has less silicone jacketing.
