951 MAX CHIPS
I installed 951 MAX chips into my 89 951 last Friday. The car has LR head, Super 75, 3" exhaust, mafterburner, MAF, etc, etc. The car is now below 12-1 A/F by redline at 20psi on pump gas. There was some tuning on the mafterburner done after install, but the car now spools faster and just runs better. It's getting plenty of fuel and I'm running 91 cheap gas.
So, anyone looking for a chip upgrade should consider the 951 MAX chips. Russell is very helpful, and called me numerous times to make sure I was happy.
Here is a pic of me and my car in the White Mountains of Arizona last weekend. Amazing roads up there.

It's going to the dyno tomorrow afternoon. I changed the chips so I could run higher boost on 91 gas. The additional boost and associated power with plenty of fuel is what I was after. Our power comes from boost. Lean conditions existed with the other chips at high boost, even with the mafterburner. I'm running a super 75, and 20psi on pump is ALOT of boost. Not just pressure, but VOLUME of air. This turbo does not drop boost. It holds it to redline, so you have to have the fuel to support the a/f ratios.
Free Welts.....anyone?

Hey guys..........I also put in my 951MAX chip last night. Firstly I should say that before doing this I also did a venturi delete and put in new 55# injectors. I have a small leak from the intake manifold where I wasnt able to torque down the allen bolt enough (slightly stripped head) so I still need to fix that.
I dont want to get too detailed in my review yet becuase I want to get the car on a dyno first and see the real numbers. However I can say that the boost seems to come on a little sooner and stronger and the car pulls hard all the way to redline in every gear. I wasnt able to get to speeds over 100 last night but the car felt good. I had a hesitation at high rpms with the other chip (probably not mapped right for the new injectors) but that hesitation is gone and everything seems to be running well.
Hopefully I will get a dyno appointment tomorrow and see how the A/F looks........if everything looks good I will see how far I can raise the boost
