It was installed by the previous owner. I like it a lot but plan on changing its location, it looks a bit odd mounted on the pillar.

Don't do that.

If the oil level is too high the crank can contact the oil creating foam. Foam in the oil = spun bearing.

Hmmm, makes sense. I try to keep the level just north of the full mark, maybe 2mm. Would like to hear some opinions from the engine builders out there.

Let's see...

You can make it as hot as you want, but without pressure, you're done!

Crank scraper, windage tray?

the two are directly related. As oil heats up, it gets thinner, and because it flows easier it builds up less pressure in the oil system. As long as you have above 1 bar at idle when you come in you are fine.

Don’t fill past the full mark!
Temp and pressure are closely related – the stock pressure gauge works pretty well so if you only want to add one add temp (and then be prepared to add the oil cooler when you find out how hot it really is!)
Mission critical gauges should not go under the radio – you will not see it until way after it matters when you are out on the track. The big plus of the stock pressure monitoring system is that there is a separate warning light system that will get your attention.

Sorry Matt!

And I realize that temp plays a large part in visciosity...

but with enough pressure, low visciosity will still lubricate...
