Not cool at all. Did you look it though? I'll keep my ebay scanning eyes open.

On another note, the famous thief who's name I shall not say tried to become my "friend" on "myspace" about a month ago. I did not approve and his account was eventually deleted. It looked as if he a turbo 968 in his possession now.

Keith, the turbo 968 was always his car. He built that one up.

In my defense, I surfed over to this thread from another thread over in the OT section which was simply titled, "Be on the lookout."

So there, wiseguy...

Default Mod Help...

nkgosselin:

I just gave a heads up to Randy V, who is a Super Mod on here for you. As you can now see, there is an announcement up top for the entire Rennlist community to see about your stolen car. I figured this could only help you my friend. As I said, I know what it's like to be violated and have a wonderful car you love to be stolen. I hope for the best for you. But a big thanks is in order to Randy V for making the announcement.

Cheers

Since the parking garage has installed the low-res cameras, have they not taken some level of responsibility?

Maybe they have a high level of responsibility, due to the low-res cameras, instead of a low level of responsibility if they had installed high-res cameras.

As an owner of an office park with a small deck, there is no law stating there has to be camera's. We put them there because a parking deck is a no-fault zone, meaning there is no right of way that is declared other than the posted signs that mean nothing in the long run. The cameras are there to show a judge if need be what happened, not to provide evidence for stolen cars. Like said above, you park your car in garage at your own risk, just like parking on the street, just covered. We never have and never will install camera's to provide photos of theifs...simply put we can't. The best way to get around this is find a parking deck that has secured entrance AND exit, meaning you can't get out without stoping first to enable a camera to keep a tab. For most though, including my family, this isn't reasonable nor affordable. Only the downtown, 5-story decks utilize this type of security...or private parking decks, but even most of those have automatic exit openers so you don't have to stop.

It really suprises me when I see a Porsche get stolen. A friend who in a previous life (now does all my paintwork) was a car theif, said that the hardest of any car he's ever tried to steal are Porsches. The locks are different than in most cars making things like slapsticks and such nearly useless. He would rarely even think about one for the fact that it takes so much longer giving more time to be caught.

Best of luck finding your car! My neighbor had a car stolen by a bunch of kids who just wanted to joyride the car, brought it back the next day, parked in the same spot. They were caught of course, but they didn't hurt a thing..just wanted a joyride. Hopefully this is the case you and will see your car back in no time.

And how many garages have you ever parked in that stated that they have full liability for your vehicle and its contents?

It's a deterrent, nothing more, nothing less.
