Default Update - stolen in Denver w/pics

One week today. Not good yet. Not a peep from police. Just going through all the work of pulling records and creating comps for a valuation. A big shout out to Tom R. whose info that he passed along made the latter much easier. I'm putting together quite a convincing case to get what my car was worth.

As a bonus, another pic of me taking off through the snow shot by a photographer friend of mine. Dang, that car was fun.

Here is a pic from the security at my office garage that shows my 86 951 being driven out at 4:30pm on Tuesday by someone other than myself. I walked out at 6:15 to go home and could not find my car. The video is so low rez it could be Don King driving it and you could not identify him. Same goes for the plate on it. No idea if they kept my plate or switched it out.

This sucks. Anyway, I just have to sit and wait 21 days and then fight for what the car is worth.

NOTE, these are the only pics I have.

That sux! Sorry to hear that. I have a similar pic of my old 944 being driven out of my parking garage with someone else at the wheel, too.

Hopefully it all works out in your favour. Good luck!

Default Sorry

nkgosselin: I am so sorry to hear that my friend. Man does that suck. My 1989 mint condition 944T was stolen over 1 year ago, so I know what it feels like. Do yourself a favor, because you don't know who this person is or where he is from. Do "not" post anything specific here on Rennlist. Don't post your plate numbers, what security you had/will have, any personal information, or what steps are being taken. Nothing specific! You never know if this person is a memeber of our community or not. I hope he isn't, but you never know. So you don't want to give out anything for him to go by.

I don't know about the Denver police, but as soon as mine was stolen I filed a police report. Then I had to wait 30 days before I could file an insurance claim. Anyway, the car was never found, well, in one piece that is. Very long story I don't wish to ever relive. So then began the whole insurance process that I don't want to even get into. Anyway, let's hope this jerk just took it for a joy ride, and that "you will" find your car in one piece and without any damages too. I wish you nothing but the best.

have any of you seen the car alarm system that has a flame thrower nozzel right below the door, handel and if the alarm goes off it ignites for like 1 sec... not enough to do more than burn some leg hair but garunteed to scare the **** out of anyone who even thinks about stealing the car. I think it was on discovery a while back. You need one of them, just dont accidentally set it off this really sucks and i hope you either get the car back in one peice or get what its worth + some for it. Sorry!

Oh Man, that sucks. What unique items, (wheels, add ons) were on your car?

Can you post better pics from before so the rest of the community can keep an eye out the car or parts. This community may be able to help identify thieves by parts they come across.

Best of luck man.. My heart dropped when I read that. I am located within eight hours of you, will keep my eyes open for ya!

EDIT: Rolex
- true, sad but true. With some good pics however at least we (honest folks) can at least have eyes open

Where was the garage ticket? Did you leave it in the car? How did the car get out of the garage w/o that parking ticket? Check with an attorney to see in the garage has any liability in your state. It would be worth an office call.

I've been in your shoes. Mine was a supercharged MR2. It eventually was found months later running, but was trashed. My condolences.

It's an unsecured, no gates, garage. So no ticket. I lost most of the pictures of the car that were on my old computer. It is a bone stock 86 951 with Gold Fuchs. It looked sharp. Brown interior.

I met my insurance guy through the local Porsche club so he should be a bit of an advocate when it comes to any settlement.

Just thought I'd vent a minute. I'll post anything as soon as I hear it. If found, or never found.

If they never find it I am defintely getting another Porsche. A third 951, 968 or dare I say it to be flamed, a Boxster.

thats just one of the reasons why Im getting that maxhp chip with remote... so I can put the car on a blank map so it wont start.... of course they could always tow the car away but thats more risky.

The solution is simple - find them, and kill them.
