Pat,
Is that 944 actually racing in any series?
I wonder if the diffuser works. Maybe it's just the photo but the exit angle of the diffuser channels looks mighty steep, I wonder if it maintains much laminar flow or if the air just separates.

Steve, it has been running around in Improved Prod I think. You can look on Youtube under ‘944challenge89’ but it only shows older videos with 968 trans and smaller turbo (less power). Also the aero wasn’t the same back then. As for the diffuser, I can’t really comment. I’ve spoken to the builder who is a cocky Kiwi (I know, a Tautology!) so who knows how much design has gone into it. I wanted to look under the car at Rennsport but it didn’t get up on the jacks as they had retired. Seems to have quite a lot of DNF’s. They had a number of transmission issues through broken CV’s I believe.

I would say that it does not work. It looks much steeper than the ~12 degrees that is usually referred to as the maximum.

Tend to agree. Found another better pic. Does look pretty steep. Still, it would be better than nothing at all.

Patrick - I think you need a set of custom plates "VADER" if only to fix to the car when you trailer it to the track! :P

Patrick, your car is absolutely insane looking. Here's a theme.. Meatloafs "Bat out of Hell".

Patrick - Now that is what I call a wallpaper!

You mentioned 'VADER' (just watch it stick ) was having a pro photo shoot done. Do you know what publication the shots were being done for? I'd be keen to have a look.

It's going to be in the (imaginitively titled) ZOOM mag and I think one more. Apparently going to be in a few Internet car forums too. Not sure which ones yet.

Thanks Rob. Currently only has 505whp at 23psi. About 470lb/tq. Weight is a bit under 2500lbs with about 1/4 tank which is what it will basically need for the format that it's designed for. It still has a stock intake and I think this is what is holding it back a bit, but having driven it earlier this week it has plenty of power and torque for me at the moment and that was on 19psi. Further changes are always on the horizon.

I know this is an old post but, if you guys want an info on these cars, I have it. My brother Jason and I along with a couple other guys in our shop originally built them.. And for the record no one really knows but there were 4 cars not 2
