944 Suspension Upgrade

944 Suspension Upgrade
I am relatively new to 944 turbo ownership and I am thinking of upgrading my cars suspension over the summer. I don't want to go for an all out track set up as this is my daily driver, but I am looking to stiffen the suspension and eliminate some of the excessive body roll. I am looking at spending between $1000-$1500 and don't want to lower the car if possible. I would greatly appreciate feedback and opinions. Thanks.

I haven't looked at Koni prices since I bought them for my 83' years ago but...
Koni Shocks: 600
M030 Sways: 300
Few solid bushings: 100
Springs: 100
T-bars: 270
Check out Paragon Products!

That gives you better sways and more adjustability that I mentioned for a bit more $$$. If both of those are too much $$$ I'd suggest you check out non adjustable bilstiens or something, the rear Koni's aren't truly "easily adjustable anyways. Besides, if you pick good shock valving and spring rates you won't need to mess with it again on the street.

look to www.paragon-products.com - they carry weltmeister springs- 200-250lbs- talk to Jason or Chuck they will steer you right for that budget.
i would say
front springs
MO30 968 sways
koni shocks/struts
if you have that stuff out you'll need an alignment as well.

My car feels great on the street. It has:
28mm Solid Torsion Bars
300lb springs
Koni Yellows all around
Weltmeister Urethane Springplate bushings
It leaves much to be desired for autocross and DE. But you would never know it if all you do is rampage the backroads.
Much flatter, more responsive, and surefooted cornering than stock! Pretty much a night and day difference from when I bought the car.

Thanks for all the replies, the car already has 17" c2 turbo wheels and michelin PS2 tires so I think I'm set in that department. I will look into the suspension bits that have been recommended here. Thanks again.

Put a set of Weltmeister sway bars on the car. Leave the rest of the suspension stock. Use the balance of the money for some Toyo RA-1's or if you're in more of a dryer climate, get the Nitto NT-01's. Sell the Pilot Sports.

I agree, Koni yellows, springs or coil overs (and rear torsion), sway bars with solid bushings and your good to go for a track ready but daily drivable suspension set up.
