Default Milledge CF Intake Manifold

< New guy on the boards!

Let me start off by saying I just bought a 1989 Porsche 944 Turbo and since almost everything I want to do is already done to this car, I decided to shave a lot of weight off it, and this has led me to go CF with my new project. I know I could just use fiberglass, but I figure that if I'm going to be spending a boatload of money, I might as well buy the best I can get. I plan on buying:

Front bumper
Front fenders
Hood
Doors
Sunroof
Dash (top and bottom)
Rear quarters
Rear bumper

Which brings me to the topic at hand:

When I was researching CF parts for the 951 I came across this intake manifold and the first thing I noticed was how there's less piping sitting above the turbo. Lower intake temperatures, anyone?

Does anyone have any information regarding these? Well, let me know what you guys think about it!

That manifold is only available if you buy an engine from him, he's pretty much retired for new business, and an engine from him, like that, is anywhere from $30k to $50k.

Ah... the imfamous John Millage.

- Really expensive (overpriced?)
- Only sells complete engines (you can't buy just the intake)

that's all I know

Sorry guys, I'm new to the Porsche scene, and especially new to this site. I've been a member on TampaRacing.com for a while, and though it's a great site for "normal car" enthusiasts, it's not a good place to get information about Porsches, especially the 944 Turbo. Regardless, you're right...I should've used the Search function.

Please understand that I come from the DSM world (my last car was a 12-second 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX), and I still have limited information about Porsche parts and suppliers. I know the big names (Lindsey Racing, GT-Racing, Rennlist, etc.), but that's about it.

That's why I'm here. Because I can get responses faster than if I were to post on the PelicanParts forum or ESPECIALLY TampaRacing.com...

No reason to be sorry. Welcome to the board.

One thing that you will learn quickly about our beloved P-cars is that there is a 50%-100% upcharge for everything that bolts onto the car.

^ Just read your post...and thank you for your input. BTW, I love your avatar.

I guess I'll stick to a Lindsey Racing intake manifold. It looks a little more uniform, anyway, and costs about 80% less. Besides...I've been thinking about having polished metal under the hood anyway, seeing all the polished goodies available.

No worries you just hit on something that MANY of us here drool Over. That intake is for all intents and purposes is made of unobtanium. In addition to the plenum being carbon fiber, It has individual throttle bodies.

If you looking to save weight The intake is probably one of the last places you could effectively do it.

If you interested in the design of the short runner larger plenum, Speed Force Racing makes an intake very similar out of aluminum that is a LITTLE lighter than the cast stock intake.

^+1 on the Speed Racing Intake Manifold. One thing you will also learn is the 951 is not as drag stirp friendly like the DSMs.
