Excessive smoke
I have a problem with my car smoking. Removed plumbing from turbo inlet, intercooler, intake, and all hoses to check for excessive oil. Didn't find anything to throw a red flag. Pulled all the plugs and none showed any signs of burning oil. So far I cannot find any signs of oil burning thru the engine. Am going to remove turbo today too see if it is leaking oil in the hot side of the turbo. What else could cause excessive smoking that doesn't appear to be going thru the engine?

I think it's a good habit to put in new spark plugs every time you take the olds ones out, the 951 is very tempramental with plugs. While you're swapping the plugs do a compression test, this will alliminate the two big ones, bad piston rings or head gasket. If you get good numbers on the compression test you're turbocharger's seals are gone. Good LUck.

I may have a similiar problem. Was it obvious that you had a exhaust side leak when you took the turbo off? How can you tell for sure?
I also had mine rebuilt but oil is still being consumed under boost. I have a catch can and that's not collecting any oil so it's not blow-by. I also had good compression and leakdown.
Thanks,
Mark
