I agree. Though guys are trying one coat of solid, followed by a coat of 'speckles', and only wet-sanding the solid coats. I'm not sure if they are having any luck, as I haven't progressed that far into the second thread..

BC/CC will not go over rustoleum w/o problems. The 2 products are not compatible. Btw, I'm not "hatin", just throwing in my .02 to avoid some of the misinformation. If anyone wants to do this to their car, they weren't going to spend money with me anyway. I think its a great idea for a track car or a car thats not going to be refinished properly in the future.

maybe I am being pesimistic, but this is like drinking a horse piss instead of beer and calling it economic.

it's better not to paint it than ruin it. atleast in my opinion.
no porsche car deserves to be painted with a roller.

nice color though..

I've seen spray jobs that looked like a monkey threw shit against a wall. Who cares how its painted? Its the end result that matters.

I partially agree with you. Where I differ is the choice of product. Rustoleum is like any other cheap enamel. It has no resistance to uv and never cures. This is why you don't want to try putting bc/cc on top, as a substrate it is very unstable. As far as I'm concerned, if I'm going to spend countless ours on something, I want a product that will last. However, I knew a painter years ago that painted a 69 charger with a roller on a dare. He used DuPont Centari acrylic enamel. After buffing it looked pretty damn good. Fwiw, I rolled the cabinets in my kitchen with Imron and they look amazing. If I could have sprayed them I would have, though I doubt the little lady would've appreciated the overspray.

Actually yes. So sorry all! I've been pretty busy lately and haven't had time to take pics. I had a revelation a week or so ago when I walked outside to look at my car. I realized I hated the color. Yep, completely hated it. The more I looked at it, the more I hated it. So, I had a spare can of Sail Blue and returned it back to Wal-Mart. I'll post pics as soon as I can get my SD card to work.
