It's good to hear that the Boost Enhancer made a noticable difference. Not so good to hear about your other problem. Was your stock boost gauge pegged hard over? I can only get mine to read 1.7 bar. 0.7 bar is approx. 10psi so that is pretty much stock boost. If your gauge read past that you were getting more than the stock 10psi boost. I was wondering how they really know where to set the adjustment on the boost enhancer to acheive 10 psi. If it was just set at "x" number of turns or threads and then the lock nut tightened down, there are a lot of variables there. I hope the boost enhancer is not the source of your troubles, but that goes back to another one of my questions. How much boost will a stock engine take? Anyone?

I've had my boost enhancer in for two weeks now--bone stock 951 except for that. I also replaced the DV valve and vacuum lines at the same time and it made quite a difference judging by the seat of the pants feel. I will be going to the 3" catless exhaust come spring, so I also like to hear what the concensus is regarding the need for a boost controller if you already have this. By the way, it's on sale under specials--twenty off.

I run my stock ~130k mile engine at ~14-16 psi.
eyeball- are you talking about the Speed Force Racing exhaust? I don't get how that price is a special unless "downpipe back" means it INCLUDES a 3" downpipe.
A SFR true 3" test pipe + catalystic converter + 02 bung + QFT cat back = $1542 by my calculations... The special says "Complete 3" 304SS exhaust(downpipe back)
$1549"

Did you blow a head gasket while you had the boost enhancer installed? If so, what did you have it set at?
Acetylene, let me know if you can find the boost enhancer, I am interested.

It is probable that the LBE did NOT blow the above mentioned head gasket. You can run high boost in these cars all day long as long as the tune is correct. I too have one on the shelf if u need it.

How to test a boost enhancer
My car came with a boost enhancer, but quite honestly, I have never paid must attention to it. IIRC, it is set at 10 PSI from the factory, but how would I test to see if it has been adjusted (am thinking that I might like to see what happens to performance if I set it to 12 or 14 PSI)?

I just got an LBE last year, it is still the only engine-related mod I have, and for now it is a great upgrade. It makes a big difference around town, and out of tight turns on the track and at auto-x. They come factory pre-set to open at 10 PSI, but if you buy one used you need to make sure that it hasn't had the setting changed. It is possible to over-boost with these things, and if you have an otherwise stock setup that would not be good. Check your boost with a real boost gauge.
