Default Dropping engine, pulling crossmember question

Hey guys I'm pulling the cross member to drop my engine and I took off 3 bolts, one holding the cross member to the control arm and then two holding it to the frame.

I see this other nut that seems to hold the motor mount to the cross member (unless I'm mistaken). Does this have to get taken off as well?

It is the nut right in the middle of the pic.

You can leave the crossmember attached and drop it as a unit. You'll have to get the suspension bits out of the way, but it will work.

You need to support the engine from above before you remove the cross-member bolts, otherwise you will either drop the motor on Darwin's head or leave it hanging from the torque tube. Once it is supported, then yes, you need to disconnect the motor mounts.

I just drop the motor with the X-member attached...works for me.

Go check out Clark's garge web site - follow directions...or end up with engine on your head.

haha yeah I've read every bit of instructions out there, but tell me how I could understand if that bolt needed to be removed from this:

"Disconnect the cross member with the steering rack and stabilizer bar attached and lower it from the vehicle."

Just isn't enough information in my opinion.

Yes I have the engine supported from above and from below I really have done my homework here I just don't know about this one spot because I've never done it before and the details are a bit vague.

I don't think that is possible!
Leave the engine attached to the crossmember (that’s the nut that you are referring to) and drop the crossmember / engine as a unit. You will need to get the suspension out of the way, sway bar removed, steering rack to steering shaft disconnected, all oil, power steering and coolant line disconnected and all wiring. You will also need to disconnect the torque tube from the bell housing (sliding the torque tube back will help – you will need to remove the transaxle to do this.
It helps to unbolt the A/C compressor and hold it to the side when you are lowering the engine.
Sounds pretty easy…..

Actually I've already removed the sway bar, steering rack, lines, all wiring, oil, etc. I disconnected the torque tube but I'm not going to drop the transaxle unless I absolutely have to. There is no AC compressor, deleted it.

Seems like all I have left are these motor mount bolts!

I used this little genius trick to get the oil line to the oil cooler apart. Thats a crescent wrench zip tied to a 26mm long handle wrench, and vice grip pliers to seal the deal. FYI - it worked.

This is what happens when the tool stores close

Your collection would not be complete without the Danno Special logo edition engine support.
