Any 951 and e36 M3 owners? Pics...
Wife's M3 and my car this weekend.... Sure is nice to have a capable family car I really like the driving experience of the BMW. Very solid feeling, torque across the power band and even with four doors it doesn't feel like a long car.

Don't have pix, but our 951 is black, too, pretty much a track rat. My E36 M3 daily driver is white with tan interior, manual transmission. I just smile when I go out to drive it. I have tracked both cars at Watkins Glen; the turbo of the 951 is soooo much fun. #2 son has a E30 M3 that he tracks, too.

Figured it would be interesting to post this on BimmerForums and see what the response is over there...

I know of another member on this board that just added an e36 M3 to the herd....I don't believe his 951 hasn't run in a while though

I did a track day at Donington Park recently with my 250 turbo and a friend's E36 M3 Evo - his is stripped & caged, probably about 100kg lighter, and has an extra ~20hp.
The cars were very evenly matched around a lap - he was faster on the 2 long straights, I caught him through the bends (I had more grip with softer rubber).
We swapped cars for a few laps - he's a former 944 turbo owner, and he commented on how good the steering/handling felt. On the flip side, the M3 engine is just glorious - when you remember to change up at 7500, not 6000 . His car, on Bilsteins, was a bit stiffer than mine (Leda), and not quite as pointy into corners, but I'm sure that's just a setup issue.

Has anyone driven an US Market e36 with the 3.0l/3.2l back to back with the Euro 3.0l/3.2l (with more power)? I was just curious about the difference in characteristics. It always disappointed me that it took BMW so long to make a world wide version of their cars and the US Market got the short end on many of my BMW loves: e24 m6/635is e28/e34 M5/535is, and 745i. One more reason why I love my 951.

I've got an E46 M3 and a 951S... I should really get some pictures of the two together
The M3 is such a big softy compared to the Porsche. Everything works all the time, it's got all kinds of creature comforts. IMHO the perfect daily driver compliment to a 951 track car.

Here's my M3 wanna be 328i. Suspension, wheels, 3.23 LSD, M50 intake, UUC short shifter and some interior stuff. I've had it 9 years, it's a great car.
Oh, and it's possible I have a thing for red & tan...
