Default Is this the TDC Sensor Plug????

I do not know for sure what this plug is. I found it laying on the back of the engine. I think it is the TDC sensor wire but when I follow it back it ends up way down on the drivers side of the bell housing. I really cant get up in there to see where it really ends. The writing on the cap reads SME001915.

So:
1) what is this for sure
2) where is it actually supposed to mount?

I was informed it's just some diagnostic port. Someone else with more knowledge than that will hopefully chime in here

Diagnostic port - connect it to your wallet and it will sense if you have any money. If you do your car will find a way to take it from you.

It is the TDC plug. Nothing to be concerned about, unless you have the proper test equipment.
