Why do you have to sell it?

I would throw a short block in it or part it yourself.

U paid 4K for a 951 with a spun #2?

Damn....

Were you high or drunk?

FWIW, buy a used motor off Lart or E-bay, and sell it.... engine swap can be completed in a weekend. PM me if you need a hand.

Is there damage to the crank on #2?

What condition are the cylinder walls in?

How far have you torn the engine apart?

It CAN be fixed.... but as it is sitting right now, fixing it is a labor of love, and not likely to result in a return to you, but should lessen the loss when selling it.. Making it right will cost upwards of 5K+....

SCOTT AT TEAM HARCO.. PAGING SCOTT AT TEAM HARCO!!!!

He recently wrecked his car (got rear ended) and has a full drivetrain he can swap into your shell..... but IMHO you should consider yourself lucky to be able to get 1K for the shell and parts... someone MIGHT come in and top 2K... but I HIGHLY doubt anyone will offer you a recoup of your $$ (north of 6K If I am reading you correctly, on a pile of parts that has sat for more than 2 years!)...

On multiple occasions i've been on the lookout for a car with a blown motor (for an LS swap). Lots of people here will tell you that a car with a blown motor is worthless, but the market disagrees.

For example, someone above said they bought a 951 with a leather interior and a crap exterior for $700. That's all well and good, but considering that a decent paintjob costs $3000+, i'd say that's more like a $3700 car (unless you want to drive around in an ugly Porsche, or you just wanted a track car).

Some people here have gotten lucky and found someone who didn't know what they were selling who gave them a great deal on a 951 with a bad motor or something else wrong. That doesn't mean that every seller should get screwed like that, though.

It looks like you have a nice clean car that has one problem (the engine). I think you could easily get $3500 for it. I've seen, and paid, that much for a clean car with engine problems.

Todd-Turbo.

If I was the OP I would part the car out rather then sell it as a package deal, IF I had the time and space.

Otherwise I guess selling is the best option, do you need to have the car gone asap? If not throw some of the high dollar stuff on CL or Ebay, like the seats, transaxle, turbo, ect.

I agree.

For someone that knows these cars and potential, the book is 8-10K for a well sorted out 951. Of course some sell for much less in distress, but they shouldn't be.

You are looking at $4-5K or so in work at a shop that knows what they are doing. Obvioulsy cheaper if you do a lot yourself.

Book = 8K-5K work= $3K solid
