Front suspension advice needed, please!
Well, it finally happened...my Mookeh camber plates started to lock up. Definitely eating some crow here!
I was looking at the GC camber plates. I have 250# welt springs now and my suspension is right where i want it, but i assume switching camber plates will change my ride height. The GC units also say "stock spring sizes won't work". So i'm thinking i'll probably pick up the Paragon coilover kit. Here's my setup right now:
250# springs, 28mm torsion bars (250# effective)
285 rear, 225 front tires (turbo twist II's)
968 M030 sways F&R
Koni's all around
I haven't been to the track yet in this car, but i'm assuming i'll have massive amounts of understeer with the little tires up front. I was thinking stiffer front springs might help with that a little? I daily drive this car, so i don't want to go too stiff. I was looking at 300-350# springs for the front, with no changes in the rear.
What spring rates would everyone suggest? Any other suggestions for suspension setup?
Also, what diameter are the springs on the Paragon kit? The GC plates ask for spring diameter when you order...

yeh about 350 is as much as you can put on without changing the rears
the smaller springs are available in2.25" and 2.5" ID i would sujjest the smaller better clearance and adjustment

If 350 is the max then i don't want to go all the way, so maybe 325? How's the daily driveability at those kinds of rates?

The GC plates come with 2.5 inch hats, I suggest you try to pick a set of springs in 8 inch length, as my 10 inch springs have the collars on my Paragon ARHK at the bottom of their adjustment range...
FWIW, I am running the same setup as you, with the GC plates and ARHK, 300lb springs in 10in length, and running LOW... but want to go higher spring rate and lower... soon to trade the 300lb springs for 450 8 in... and coil over rear with TB delete...
Traditionally 2.5 diameter are front springs, 2.25 are rear... but I suppose you COULD try to find 2.25 front hats....

Actually, one of the cool things about the GC plates is that you can order hats with the correct diameter for your springs: 2.25, 2.5 or 60mm (which I have for my KW V3 struts, for example.)
They even have a "stock will not work" ordering option, which suggests they may be able to help if you have something non-standard. Check it out:

I did some more reading last night and i think i'm going to go with 300# fronts. I don't want to have too much difference between front and rear.

I have 28 mm rear torsion bars and the following front dual spring set-up. The 350# tender springs allow one to run a softer damper setting for street mode and comfort. I have been running this set-up for a while now, and find that it works really well.
Dual spring package (2 ½” ID springs):
2 Hypercoil 8” x 550# main springs
2 Hypercoil Stacked Spring Dividers,
2 Hypercoil 4” x 350# (tender spring)
2 550# Main Springs = HYPCO8-550 = $108
2 350# Tender Springs = HYPCO4-350= $108
2 Spring Dividers = HY-18DS100 = $56
Sub Total = $272
You will have to reduce the diameter of the top “gland nut” so that it can clear the stacked spring divider. Some assembly required.

That's an interesting setup! I didn't realize you could do that. However, i currently have the stock strut setup with Koni inserts, so i would need to purchase the coilover conversion, the camber plates, and then purchase those components ($$$).
For right now i really just want to replace the camber plates (which necessitate changing to a coilover setup) as cheaply as possible. I think i'll save spending the big bucks for some day when i can afford the KW setup

Best thing to do for dialing out the understeer on the track is to get a different set of wheels and run the same size tires front/rear. That's what I do, I run 275-40-17's all the way round on 17x9 Cup 2's.

Okay, after reading around i'm going to go with 300# front springs.
I noticed on GC's website that they ask whether you have 14mm or 16mm Koni's. I have inserts in the stock housings. What diameter are they?
GC's tech support guy is terrible. 1-day response times each time and he never answers my question. I asked him for suggestions on spring rate, and his response was that "many people go with a coilover conversion when buying the camber plates".....well i KNOW THAT, genius! That's why i'm trying to give you an extra $219, if you could only be bothered with me for another minute!

That's good to know, because my dealings with this guy at Ground Control have been pretty poor. If paragon sold the GC/similar ($$) camber plates i'd definitely go with them. When it's time to go with a "real" suspension setup i'll be in touch with Paragon.
Anyways, guy finally emailed back and said 14mm. So now i know
