Whats your favourite feature on your 951!

Funny story. A few years ago I was leaving the gym walking to my car. I heard the tell tale closing of a 944 door and I walked over and sure enough it was. I talked with the owner for a bit and we've been friends since.
Ahh the memories....remember Mike?

Really? Has no one said pop-up headlights, yet??
My favourite feature isn't the old handling cliché, exactly: it's that, when I'm overdoing it, it somehow lets me know before we get to the point of over- or understeer, in time that I can do something about it. There's just something you can feel in the steering wheel. Both of my 944s have done it, and it's magic.
None of the dozen or so other cars I've driven hard have had it, even if some (it must be said) have handled better.

all the above.
I love what a great conversation piece my car has been for the last two years. I've come out of out two shopping establishments to walk up to my car and have someone circling it, then spending 15 minutes with them talking about it and lost count of the number of waves, nods, thumbs up's and general comments I've received. Everyone loves the 944...such a great car...exactly why I bought it. I could have easily bought a new Cayman or 911...but why? I guarantee I have just as much fun in the car for a fraction of the price as I would in either of those.

I've owned three of these cars. All modded. Tried most others, and went back to the 951. There isn't one favorite part of the car for me. It's the whole package. This current ride is highly modded, but the soul of the car and the reason I own this car is the basic 951 setup. I love the drivers position, the braking, how it handles with a well setup suspension, the power delivery, and actually, the look of the car. It doesn't seem dated to me. I did add fixed dual lights. The pop-up stuff isn't my favorite, and we needed some room under the hood for the intake we designed. Plus, the ability to take the oil filter off easily is worth the effort.
I also enjoy being a surprise at track events. PCA or NASA, doesn't matter. A well setup 951 continues to be one of the best cars at the events. These cars used to be seen fairly often years ago when I purchased my first one. Now, I seldom see these cars on the road. They are faster than most other cars with similar HP, and a blast to drive well.

- Getting a warning instead of a ticket from an officer. He asked me if the car was REALLY a 1989 Porsche....I said "Yes".... He said "I thought it was a 2000 something... I gave you a warning because your car is in great shape.. Keep it that way"
- Kids faces pressed against school bus windows as I drive by....
- Its hips
- The cabin heat
- The *click* the doors make when closing them

#1 favorite is just the feel of the car down the road. So direct and mechanical. Even my buddy's 997 Turbo I drove a few weeks ago doesn't have anywhere NEAR the feel my 951 has.
#2 favorite is the fat punched out fenders.

glad you had a good experience...I've only been pulled over one time and it was by a motorcycle *****...er, cop who pulled me over for 7 over in a 55 when I was in the middle of a pack of cars just going with the flow of traffic. The dude had to ride up in between two lanes about 15 cars to get to me...and he tells me to just get over whenever I can after the light turns green.
So, I pull over in a Walgreen's parking lot and the first question out of the dudes mouth isn't "License and Registration...", it's "What year is it?"
I give him my license and before he goes back to his bike he circles my car TWICE. Then comes back and asks me twenty questions about it and then gives me a f'ing ticket...but says, he's going to be nice and make it only for 5 over.
I swear the dude just pulled me over to see my car - but was a big enough dick that he couldn't even write me a warning.
Guess I should look at the glass half full and be thankful he wasn't hiding somewhere when I was going (simulated) a lot faster than that.
