Default What did I do - Replaced airbox, now hood difficult to close

It's 0200. I replaced the airbox (original 951 airbox had broken tabs) with one without broken tabs.

Now the hood is difficult to close, I have to really lean on it to get it to PING and catch. Haven't driven it yet, but concerned. I can see the hood has original rubbed on things, but don't see any wear marks. It's dark. I'm tired. What should I be looking for? I will revisit it tomorrow after work, looking for ideas. I made sure that no hose clamp heads were protruding up.

=(

First, did you leave any tools in the engine bay? common mistake.
if not. neal down next to your front tyre (any) and using ONE eye match the top of the fender with the one on the other side, see if everything sits under that level.

I looked for tools before giving up. Will try the eye level from the side test (I was doing it from the front and it was dark) next. I just don't want to keep opening it and having to use this force to close it. =\

Drives fine, no visible bend when looking from the nose. I just had inspection done, maybe they adjusted the bolt/spring in the front without telling me?

No, I installed it. I just had PA inspection done, I know they had the hood open (most likely to check for emissions/shock tops).

When I got it home I opened it, and did my airbox install. I am using the sock mounting points, give or take (front right = yes, front left = tippy top of the ear U).

I even noticed rub marks on my wires from the distributor cap (though I retucked/clipped to the wire holder).

What tool does one need to adjust the hood latch? Is it a regular/slotted screw driver? I may have a look at lunch...

I think it was a flat head screwdriver and 12, 13 or 14mm spanner i think.

I revisited it after work. The front left 'fork' was jiggered up, I ended up having to use a zip tie, washers, and another zip tie to pull it down. Closes nice now. =)

No, but I did reread the thread to try.

I think just looking during the day, understanding the stock mounting points, and keeping it low and tight was the answer.

I powder coated my OEM charge pipes (so no stickers for reference) but here's how the bends should align.
