I had to lower my boost, it went up about 2 lbs by just install the 3" exhaust without the cat. It should come on stronger. There have been discussion about mid-range boost but I am suspecting you have a leak.

MMM.... I havent removed the cat yet which I know is partially clogged...that's next on the list. The boost when it comes in is hard but its just taking long, first gear I don't get 5psi until around 3k RPM. So I'll look for leaks I took it to another shop and they welded one I found. I felt around and didn't find another one yet. I may also change my BOV spring to something stiffer, duno if that will help anything lol.

No worries man its my slow brain I'll look for exhaust leaks and boost leaks if I don't find anything I'll raise boost and fuel a little.

+1 - My boost went up by ~1.5 lbs just from installing the 3" full exhaust, just as Fabspeed calls out on their site. My spool-up is quicker too. I would suspect exhaust leaks too.

Get rid of the flowmaster. Names can be deceiving.

Hey guys I put the car on a jack today and checked for exhaust leaks. I found two more leaks, they aren't big but I figure it's probably causing it. So hopefully when those get welded I will get a little sooner spool up.

Onspeed- It's a magnaflow I've seen rennlister's use the Stainless Steal version of the same muffler so it should be ok.

Didn't you tell me he couldn't bend the pipes so he just kinda cut angles into the straight section of pipe to make bends?

yep, he used straight pipe and cut several pieces to make the bends. His pipe bender could only do 2.5" and he didn't have mandrel 3". Overall sounds good looks decent but he got rushed towards the end by his boss so I think that's what got me.

Also at $140 I can't complain to much, as long as he fixes the leaks. If I would have bought the pipe and muffler it would have cost roughly 75 bucks more. So once the leaks are fixed I'll be happy.

Ya I agree as well, I'm going to check all my vac lines and so forth as well as leaks around the wastegate pipes. I wouldn't be shocked if something came loose just because of messing with the rear pipe section.

I'm having popcorn for breakfast!

1. Bigger exhaust wont spool slower.

2. Leaks after the turbo won't spool slower.

I would fix the leaks, eventually, but remove them from the troubleshooting process.

Not true on my '97 Miata Turbo. I was on the OE exhaust and the boost was almost instantaneous. Switched to the 3" the boost came on a few hundred rpm later but the power increase made it worth the extra bit of waiting.
