Amsoil Heavy Duty 75/140 is what I use. It works great.

Probably somewhere around 80k on mine. Was running Redline synthetic fluid, I don't remember if it was MTL or MT-90.

That's what I'm hoping for, although I'm not counting on it. Based on the amount of oil spray on the back of my car I figure I must have done at least a lap after she opened up. Since neither the instructor nor I noticed any strange noises I'm hoping the damage isn't very bad (fingers crossed). I will get a full rebuild of course. I just pray that my cup trany is not wrecked! I do not have a new one in the budget this year (or next).

I've got about 205,000km (127,000mi) on mine.

She was not dry. Tight as a drum. No appreciable weeping at all.

I'll be investigating this. Thanks for the tip.

The trans was from a Turbo Cup car? Or are you refering to the original Turbo S/AOR trans? If it was an real cup trans, hard to know how much abuse it saw during years of racing.

Until it is opened up and the damage is seen, and probable cause of failure is determined, do not be in any hurry to install one of those plates in the gear carrier. That looks a lot like a garage solution to a incorrectly defined problem.

Sorry, it's the original Turbo S trany.
