Not sure what you're up to, but you might be able to use a steel plate with holes drilled right where the headers bolt up.

Tom, that was the other idea but i am too lazy to do it that way.. . Hoping someone has one lying around close by, but doubtful as there are less than a handful of 944T folk in my area.
