Mouth held flashlight at Walmart
Well, actually, I bought the parts at Walmart, some assembly required as they say.
I was working under the dash recently and struggling to get light where I needed it while being able to use both hands. I ended up, as I often do, with my small Maglight in my mouth. Works ok but not great on my teeth...
Did some quick searching online but didn't find a good solution so my next trip to Walmart I checked out the flashlight section and found this:
Energizer Trail Finder Series LED Cap Light
And this:
Wison Mouth Guard
Glued the two together with marine epoxy and ended up with this:
Stuck it in my mouth and, while clearly redlining the Dork-o-Meter, got this rather effective tool:
I call it the Bite-Lite, enjoy!

Ha, that's pretty funny. Kudos for posting it too.
What about those ones you wear on your head?

lol, very funny. Something i added to my tool box this year was a LED headlamp from Petzl. LED tech has really come a long way in the last few years and these things are uber bright and the battery lasts a long time. Great for working on the car even in a well lit workspace and saves me from dropping my flashlight into the bilge of the ship i work on when crawling through pipes!

This is a more expensive one, they have many in the $20 range that are still good and a bit more 'disposable'. If anyone does end up getting one like this, pay close attention to the beam pattern, some lights are designed for a spotlite, others are flood lights and a few have sliding lenses that do both (like the one i posted).

I'll admit that this is likely not to everyone's "taste" but it really does work well. I've tried a headlamp or two and they worked ok but they were cumbersome, especially whilst in the astronaut position underneath the dash.
Highly amusing...

Somehow I'm not surprised that you were under the dash. Were you detailing the underside of it?
As a dentist I can't really approve of your new mouthguard though. However, wearing it will insure that you don't further contaminate the gene pool!

I think that's quite clever. I have a single AAA cell LED light that I'm always holding in my mouth... and sometimes it gets to tasting a little funky...
