Continental teves mk60 standalone is racing abs of choice beside bosch motorsport unit afaik.. check out builds on different forums.

I have the non flashable unit 818.3 which can be set to CSL mode only and you can also get the flashable version 813.3 that can be flashed to all the different parameters.

Problem is bmw part number is same for either of these. But since E46 CSL has 50:50 weight distribution and very similar weight, 818.3 with CSL parameter enabled should be pretty capable abs in 944.

This used to be great resource of information but they got greedy and removed info.. Some of it is still accessible on wayback.

Thanks Voith. Is this a new addition to your car or have you been using this for a while? Impressions? Approximate cost factor?

Newish addition to non running project car. No experiences, just what I've read on the interwebs.

Initially I wanted the boxter abs but upon digging for knowledge I've come to conclusion this is much better solution for adding modern 4channel braking system to 944. Variable electronic proportioning valves also help as fiddling with fixed value prop. valves is something I'd much rather leave to computer to figure out.

Thanks @Voith for all the info, but now I'm conflicted. I was heading down the Boxster ABS path as well and I could do that system for cheep. Like $200 but now reading up on all the info you provided on the E46 MK60 systems that are programable and have the yaw sensor I'm seriously conflicted. The cost of a E46 M3 MK60 (813.3) system will cost $1500-$2000 and that's with me making the wire harness. Is the performance worth the extra cost? I see MK20 (801) for much less but not sure if anyone has made those work. perhaps I shouldn't be so cheep....
