Default 951-CTSV update - photo

I wanted to start a new thread on this project because it has become a new life form/mutation. Engineering and fabrication are by Mitch Marchi II with input and engineering from Mitch Marchi .I

Check it out.

Plumbing will be completed this week.

Harness just needs to be plugged in.

A control panel will be fab'd inside for the switches (already wired up).

There are some very trick bits on this project.

Engine is in the standard position, not lowered, suspension hat mounts are reinforced. The cross brace bosses are welded to a plate on the suspension hat. The cross brace is six pieces of square tubing welded together. Their is a box below the air filter and the wings provide a seal for proper cowl induction. The orange rod up front is a prop rod for the hood. All front panels are held on by Dzus fasteners including an air channel box for the radiator.

The intake is symetrical and has been rotated 180 degrees. We wanted to bring in the cooler low pressure air at the base of the hood.

No Hydroboost, what you see is a custom box welded mount for a twin master cylinder mount made by Wildwood. There is a black painted rod that goes under the spark plug wires to a beefed up brake pedal.

Also note that the coil packs are now custom mounted to the valve covers which have been painted with "wrinkle" paint.

The reservoirs will mount in place of the original fuse box.

Clever brake setup - I wouldn't have thought about coming that far forward like that.

Would love more pictures of the brake booster setup - have looked into this setup on BMWs for the 944-V8 guys.

Paint touch up on the engine bay is in process, then the plumbing. About 40 hours of work left. I should be able to shoot some more photos this weekend. I have to either paint or wrap a the hood, fender, header yet. Trying to decide on that one. Probably just paint and wrap later.

A/N fittings on the bleeders off the head. (Steam vents) necessary? No. Fun to look at? Yes.

You're in the home stretch. That's pretty exciting.

Looks like those are waiting for lines to be connected across the front of the motor and into the coolant reservoir on the far side of the motor.

The reservoirs will mount in place of the original fuse box.
In case anyone is wondering: Well then where are the fuses? ... This is all of the central wiring, fuses, relays, AND ecu for the entire car! No huge fuse box, no huge DME/KLR mess.

What I meant by my A/N steam vent comment was not that steam vents weren't necessary, Because I highly recommend running them. It the fact that he used expensive A/N fitting to transport it. Just not a requirement, but certainly a race car look and feel.
