Default How fast will it go?

I live in the country. Sometimes me and my friends drive really fast on some very isolated back roads. I also drive a super bike so I am pretty well versed in high speed. My buddy rides an R1 Yamaha. This bike is super fast. He and I were cruising one day and I was in the 951. He was on his bike. He said he saw 160 on the speedo when he passed me. How fast will they go? I'm guessing an honest 160 topped out in 5th if you have some work done, which I do. How fast have you gone? Simulated of course, don't want any trouble.

If your 951 is modified tastefully like mine, it will do all of what the gauge says. Typically the gauge is off so bring along a GPS.

I found my gauge to be off by 2-3 mph up to about 100 mph. Haven't driven it faster when I had my gps in the car.

your gauge will easily be off by 7~8 mph + at 140 mph.

While the cars are fairly strong they have design limitations. 155 to 165 mph is probably the stock transmission and aerodynamic upper limit. I have seen some that have been modified and were capable of going faster. Check You Tube and the Texas mile for examples.

I've had my cruise control on at 165 before out in West Texas on I-10: fun stuff!

was in my '88TS, making 355/345 rw at the time (back in '99)

in all seriousness, if I recall the owners manual shows redline in 5th at 172mph. Assuming the car has the power to pull it then that should be the top end.

When using GPS at speed my speedo is only 2-3 fast.

It's possible I've seen 163 (indicated) in the past...and it's also possible the car was still pulling hard.

My car had fresh SO2's, 285/30-18, so about the same diameter as the factory 245/45, maybe a smigion taller.
