How should you launch a 951 at the drag strip?
Lookup pre-loading launch.

But basically, you use either the E-brake or heel-toe it, to hold the car, let out the clutch enough to put a little load on the drivetrain. Then let off the E-brake while smoothly letting off the clutch and going WOT at the same time...

Takes a little bit of practice - but is much easier on the drivetrain than fast clutch dumps.

I done got that mastered 20 years ago with my first turbo

E-brake works for testing the clutch on a used car too. I bought a CRX a few years ago for cheap.........pulled the e-brake and it did 6000RPM in first without moving an inch.....got it even cheaper.

Lart do you need some axle bits "new CV's"? I have some spares I'm never going to use. I'm moving Saturday and can dig them out of my bins.
They are new ones. I Loathe building axles......it makes me turn green and smash things

This guy is clearly an idiot. The way the car bogs off the line tells me that 2-step isn't really helping him any. A little bit of clutch slippage there would go a long way...

Precision_Motorsport_LLC should have them, Lart talks about them all the time.

Ahhh...I miss the days of my street legal 4 speed V8 Vega. I had nitrous on it (early non adjustable 200hp Cheater circa 1981). Rev to 4k, dump the clutch and hit the nitrous button at the same time, then row through the gears with the foot pedal flat and the floor and my thumb always squeezing the nitrous switch.

8" Ford axle transplanted.

As far as my 951, I heve yet to and never plan to "launch" the car. The risk/reward just isn't there.

Out of curiosity, how much boost pressure was built up by the time you side-stepped the clutch?
