Ebay Upholstery Kit
Anyone ever tried one of the front seat upholstery kits sold on Ebay? If so, how difficult was the installation? They look pretty good in the pictures and the seller, Auto Interior Kits has a pretty good seller rating.

I did it. ~$350 for German Vinyl, for my Sports Seats. Material is great, not that sticky/cheap vinyl. Second seat looked better than the first... second set would be even better I bet, haha. I had to do it 'fast' (about 3hrs a seat, I am slow). I used the zip ties and hog-rings approach... So much better than what was there, but it has wrinkles... My fault. =) Don't feel it or see it when in them, and they look very good at a glance.

I recently did. I was actually looking for a seat of seat skins for a W129 Mercedes 500 SL ( a 1991 ). I found an auction selling both front seat skins for $550 in leather (cheap, everyone else was asking $1200+)
The companies name was topsonline.com, so I checked out their website, gave them a call, and bid.
Turnaround was about 17 days ( she said it would take 2-3 weeks ).
I took the seats apart, starting mounting the covers, and expected the worst. I had foam pads ready to fill in the wrinkles all too common with aftermarket seat covers....
They fit like a glove, and looked as good as new. No wrinkles, color is perfect, and the seams were 95% correct.
Im looking at the seat covers on ebay to do my early 944 sport seats. Are those the ones you were looking at? And by the way, if you dont have any experience installing seat skins....its not as easy as it looks. Doable, but not easy.

I looked at topsonline and they didn't have a 944 seat cover on their web site, just MB and Jaguar.

i had an upholstery shop doing the labor, it came to $200 for two seats. incredibly cheap with good quality but the shop was in the ghetto. took 4 hrs for two seats.
normal prices are about 2-3x of what i paid. this is a job i would out source...
a shop quoted me $1700 for two seats in new leather, $1300 in vinyl. they manufacture the seat covers themselves. just some pricing points.
