Default Audi Tuner Recommendations From The Speed Geeks

Hey fellas...long time no post.

I just bought a 2013 Audi S4 Prestige (214 miles now) so it's time to upgrade and can use some recommendations on reputable parts vendors similar to our Vitesse or lindsey, or...(insert Vendor here). I've already ordered some fun stuff (brakes, sways, springs) but this things needs a pulley and a tune in the worst way. Everything I've found requires 93 octane (I only get 91) and I really don't know much about any of the Audi vendors. Any suggestions?

PES tuning always looked like they had a good product. I considered the SC for my 3.0 A4 avant a few years back.

Take a look at Stasis. Where are you located? A friend of mine has a shop in NJ and its probably the best known Stasis shop around.

Yeah Stasis does a lot of warranty-supported stuff (at least, they used to... you used to be able to buy a "Stasis Edition" car brand new).

APR and Revo are the two big names in VW/Audi tuners. I had a 91-octane APR tune in my old A4, and am running a Revo tune in my GTI. Been happy with both.

EDIT: Looks like APR still offers a separate 91 tune: http://www.goapr.com/products/ecu_up...tfsi_b8s4.html

my friend has an '07 gti with an apr stage II tune. My 951 will soon be racing it with video. it is smooth but I think its slower than the 951 at 15psi compared to his 18 psi

I'd say Vast performance, I'm not sure if they have anything for the b8 yet. If they don't GIAC, AWE or EPL. I have been hearing bad things about STSIS as of late, read some of the Audi forums however I take that with a grain of salt just like any other 'issue' on a forum. No body talks about the good things, well it seems that way at least.

I had a k26/8 a few years ago, and I used to always race my friends 06 GTI with a tune, full 3" exhaust, and DSG transmission. He was always quicker off the line, but by 75 I was closing the gap, and after 100 I was putting bus lengths on him.

Is this a replacement or addition to your stable?

Just to echo two things already mentioned:

I have a slick selectable map APR tune and full exhaust on my A4, and I'm very happy with it.

The Stasis suspension kits are very well liked, but I haven't tried them yet.
