You're welcome to borrow mine. I was able to repair the pads on my kids E36's, happy to help if you want to give that a go.

That may work. I'm hoping that when I take it apart I'll see that the wire simply broke and I can repair it.

That's all I did. Checked continuity with a DVM to confirm the break. In my case you could see burn marks where the wire broke. Both times it was at the base of the seat where the heater wire goes to the connector. I think every time it gets sat on that wire flexes and eventually gives way. I was able to peel back the insulation, stretch the wire a bit and resolder, so far so good after 12 months.

Nice. I may reupholster the bottom while I'm at it. Passenger seat and rear seats are all in great condition.

Yeah, but you couldn't warm up your burrito on the passenger seat!

Any chance the photos for this diy are floating around anywhere? I've had heated 964 seats with this dial installed in my car for 10 years now and it's time to wire these up.

Wow! Talk about resurrecting a thread! But, this was an awesome one to bring back. Any idea what happened to the original photos?

Old thread revival - pointing another P-car owner to this thread. Is this the same switch you used Greg?
