Default oil cooler

Hi so im finally out in garage working on getting at my oil cooler to do the seals and gasket.

I have all the header studs out.

Now Im down below and am trying to unbolt the six bolts at the other end of the header and how the heck do you get at the bolts in the center theres no room.
I mean they are all rust I could cut them off since I can bearly get a wrench on them Thanks for any help with this guys Bill

Patience and some flex head wrenches, sockets, extensions and universal joints. 1/4" gear works much better than 3/8". It can be done...other jobs are much worse!

I was able to get them using either two wrenches to grip between and have to break them loose or a flex head socket and a wrench. I am going by what you're talking about sounding like the header to crossover bolts and nuts.

Since they are a nut and a bolt, getting two wrenches (one with the angled head for the one from above) and getting them slightly offset to each other you just pull them together and you can generate a nice bit of torque. Yes, it's VERY slow going at times, but it was definitely NOT the worse part of all the work I am finishing up on the car today, not by a long shot.

Get some new ones or clean them up really well before going back together, too! Use some anti-seize before reinstalling.

Good luck!

Carefully twist and rotate, it will come out from the top. I have my cruise control stuff out of the car, you may need to move yours to get it out.

Think Rubic's cube....it will come.

Where is it stuck? On the bottom flange between the frame rail and the block?

If your motor mount is soft, you may need to use a 2x4 to gently lift the motor away to get the clearance you need.
