Default TonyG > Red 944 V8 Roller For Sale

TonyG's red LSx 951 for sale minus the engine, trans, seat, harness, steering wheel

$13k as is + shipping

The car is a track car with a basic interior.

*** The car is currently registered and insured in California ***

2775lbs with the LS6 and about 5-8 gallons of fuel.

Running NT01's I can beat every car on the track except a newish cup car with a real good driver on new slicks.

Out of the 120 cars in the Porsche Owners Club , I only get beat by 8-10 cars. It's the same cars every time. And if the car were to run slicks.... that number would probably be 3 or 4 max.

The reason I never ran slicks is because you can't get wide 17" slicks. The widest 17" slick is a 280 and that's not as good as a 315 NT01 so I never went down that path.

I had intended to with the red car this summer, but the vision yellow 951 came up for sale and I switch gears using that tub as the basis for a new race car.

And now that the vision 951 is using GT3 front and rear suspension, a new transmission, pretty much the only thing I need from the red car is the engine/clutch/bell housing/headers and the computer.

The car is setup for a LSx V8. Included is:

-Renegade Hybrids Ceramic Coated Headers
-Custom Dual 2.5" Mandrel Bend Exhaust with H pipe, 02 Sensors, and Dual Magnaflow Mufflers
-Renegade Hybrids Motor Mounts
-Renegade Hybrids Engine Wiring Harness (already wired into factory gauges)
-Functioning OBD2 light in factory gauge cluster
-OBD2 Port on Bottom Dash
-MTI Stealth 2 Cam (made 389RWhp on stock LS1)
-Aluminum Flywheel (needs resurfacing)
-Gm Computer flashed with my dyno tune using the above cam at the RWhP stated above... installed and wired

YOU WILL NEED FOR THE LSX INSTALL:

-Complete LS1/6 engine with front F body drive accessory layout
-Clutch and bell housing, clutch slave
-Renegade Hybrids torque tube-to-bell housing adapter
-Renegade Hybrids clutch pilot bearing

EVERYTHING ELSE IS INCLUDED

The car has:

-new custom valved Bilstein Escorts running 750lbs/1000lbs springs
-new Racer's Edge spherical bearings/solid bushings everywhere (1/2 to 2 seasons on all)
-2 year old 968 control arms with ducts
-Weltmeisters front/rear with comp drop links
-Boxter ABS with OBD2 diagnostic access port
-996 GT3 front and rear brakes (14"/13" front/rear) with Pagid Yellow pads (8f5% left)
-custom widened Cup 2 wheels (17x11) on all 4 corners running 315 NT01's on all 4 corners
-new Racer's Edge billet front hubs (1/2 season on them)
-72mm studs on all 4 corners
-new front/rear wheel bearings (1/2 season on them)
-new powersteering rack (rebuilt but never run
-new tie rods
-new factory Porsche steering knuckles (1/2 season on them)

-new Renegade Hybrids aluminum radiator (1/2 season)
-22"x6" Mocal oil cooler, Mocal thermostat, remote oil filter
-Hydraboost hydraulic assist brake booster
-wilwood rear adjustable proportioning valve in cockpit

-2 of my custom front splitters with support rods (balsa reinforced)
-Vision Kokeln rear wing
-Lexan on 3 rear windows
-gutted doors with RSR style door panels
-Early 911 style head liner

-Wired for cool suit, transponder, and rear diff cooler via dash panel switches.

-Chase cam dual cam system with mixer
-Athlon GPS blue tooth predictive lap timer
-Custom 180mph factory gauge cluster with custom silver back plates and LED lighting
-Custom billet shifter (adjustable height)

-Kill switch with remote pull

-Oddyssee battery

-The hood, front bumper, front fenders (1" wider than stock), rear bumper are glass.

The dash is nice.

There is a basic black carpet kit installed without padding.

-Autopower bolt in roll cage that has had a relocated cross bar over windshield (welded in) and an additional drivers bar (welded in).

All lights function. The blinkers and horn do not.

The bad:

The car has been raced since 2008 and the body shows it. It's got a small dent on the roof (from a hood flying off he car), a small dent (from my lift) on the passenger door, the paint cleans up OK but it could use to be repainted.

The GT Racing head light covers are a scratched from the track, but new ones are sold by GT for $200.

It needs some sort of fuel filler. It was setup for a borrowed dry break but I had to give it back. You can get the dry brake fillers on ebay for like $250 which you just use a piece of 2.25" hose to connect to the fuel tank.

WHAT HAS BEEN TAKEN OUT OF THE CAR?

-steering wheel
-seat
-seat brackets
-harness
-transponder
-cool suit cooler

-complete engine long block with clutch and bell housing and torque tube adapter.

-transaxle & axles

NOTHING ELSE HAS BEEN REMOVED FROM THE CAR

that's very reasonably priced! It would take 2-3x to recreate that from a regular 951

I hope someone smart takes this car real soon.... or it will be in pieces real fast, which would be a shame.

This is the cheapest fastest street legal track 944 V8 you'll ever see.

I've intentionally held off of ripping out the wiring harness, the GT3 brakes, the chase cam system, etc....

I'll put it on Ebay on Monday for a quick deal. But after that.... I'm gonna strip it down.
