Still havent tacled the heat sheild yet..But got it running ... What are the gaskets on the manifold not on the motor the two down below..Think I should replace then before all said and done reused old one at motor 4 individulal gasket saw no others Thanks

Huh... I put the shield on first, then did the headers.

I can't really attribute any of the header installation difficulties to the heat shield. I'd think the shield would be an even bigger PITA to put in with the headers in the way....
