when does the turbo water pump work?
my understanding its job is only when the car is shut off for it to run 30sec
when the car is running its off
"When the car is running, the coolant is supplied to the turbo by the mechanical water-pump and is regulated by a separate (smaller) thermostat just for the turbo coolant circuit. This thermostat is an 82C thermostat. When the car is running, coolant is pulled through the non-running turbo electric water-pump.
I am not sure how the turbo electric water-pump behaves if the temp sensor is not present. I would guess when the car was shut off, it would either run for 25 to 30 seconds only or run all of the time."
found this too wanted to see if all agree

With the sensor present it would run anytime the temperature got high enough, regardless of the car running or not. I can't remember how high that was though. With no sensor it should only run for the 30 seconds after turning off the car since that's triggered by a relay or something independent of the sensor. The sensor to the wire needs to be grounded for the pump to turn on, which is what the sensor does when the temperature gets hot enough, it closes the circuit. So without the pump there, as long as the sensor wire is tucked away properly and it not grounding on any metal object, it should never run other than the 30 seconds I think. To test, just unplug the sensor, and see if it turns on when the car is shut down.

Check your temp sender to make sure the 2 wire are not touching each other. That happened with mine when I first bought my car. Check wiring when I bought it......that caused mine to run always. pulled the wires apart and it stopped running. might not be your specific issue but very easy to check.
