I'm definitely interested depending on price. You should consider offering a bundle with some of your chip products...

Nice to know, thank you.

Most definitely! The new DME is almost completely surface-mount components, and new manufacturing which eliminates (or significantly reduces) failures due to vibration.

Glad you like it! I need to look into stickers...

As soon as I have a bit more clear idea of the market, then I will post pricing (at least range-it).
Where can I buy one, I am needing to replace or repair my current ECU?

Thanks

I also am interested in a one. Potentially bundled with MAF, Rogue chip set, etc. As I know there are many more like me, please update asap with pricing and availability.

TIA

John, I posted in 44Cup.com, and the response was not so positive. I asked what would need to be done for it to be evaluated for legality, and that question wasn't answered, but all sorts of concerns were raised. I think you are more trusted voice, certainly a more known one, than me. I know Dave has a tough job, and it is easy for me to see why his concerns are unfounded, but he's got no reason to trust me I'd love to see you respond in that thread something to the effect of:

Issues raised:
Reliability - It is new, it will be inherently more reliable than any other affordable option.
Cost - A new one from Porsche runs $2600. That's going to keep people from buying one.
New and unrecognizable - This is a drop in DME that uses the OEM (and aftermarket) chips we all know and love. Everything in it will look just like they all do, except just brand new. As far as tampering goes........all of the code comes from the chip, it is somewhat analogous to the cam tower (DME) and cam (chip). You just aren't going to be able to gain anything with a cam tower change, it just packages the cam (chip).

Used ones are plentiful, but the whole point of this is reliability.

I'd also like to see the question I asked answered (What would need to be done for this to be evaluated?). Would he trust Behe to evaluate it? Shoot, I might be willing to invest some time and money to get my car up there if it would help.

Harry,
Thanks for the heads-up, and great analogies!
Dave and myself have traded a couple emails this morning... Getting the new DME accepted in PCA/Cup is a definite priority for me.

PM inbound.

Good. From my interaction with Dave, he's a good guy with a tough, under appreciated job.
