in '96 I had a Powehaus K27/06-8 setup that spooled pretty good with an Autothority MAF: made 330/335 to the wheels at 15psi: not bad back then

Charlie Brown at Evergreen Turbo converted my k26/8 to a K27/8 parts included for $750.

I couldn't be happier with Charlie's service or the k27/8!

I emailed him last week, He no longer sells the parts, but if you supply the parts he will do it for you

Let me help you with that. Send it to Charlie, tell him to sprinkle his magic pixie dust on it, and smile from ear to ear. Can't believe how well the one on my race car works.

Fast924.....saw your PM, gotta think about it. Probably a month and a half before I know what I want to do.

I have an old school Huntley Racing Stage III single ceramic ball bearing hybrid on the CA car and I love it. It is a true bolt on and everything will fit. As I recently learned it can even be "clocked" in the car and the compressor housing can be removed while still bolted to the pedestal.

Haha. No way......drove the car last night and reminded myself how much fun it is!!!

The smaller hot side does the trick for me. Lots of twisty roads and stop signs where I live......nowhere to appreciate the top end of the /8 hot side.

We gotta get together before the snow and take our cars out for a blast... They love this cold air

I had a dual ball bearing .50 Trim TO4E/KKK#8 that I thought was fantastic for a DD. Full boost at ~2800 RPM, and was holding 20psi steady to redline. Shawn (refresh951) ran it for a while also, I think he liked it as well.

I think the LR Super 53 is very similar, although I'm not sure.

Are you sure it was DBB and not SBB? DBB would require full Garrett CHRA. The turbo you described sounds like a Turbonetics hybrid similar to mine.

Yes, that was an awesome turbo. Sold it to OMNI and he loves it also. Turbonetics quit making the KKK hotside housing so you have to do some work to find one.

Well the car is my old Turbo S & has the following mods:
-polished ports
Full 3" exhaust, Tial 38mm WG, Greddy EBC
-A-tune by Rogue (about to order).

Any final suggestions? There's a K27-06 on eBay...might go that route.
